Veterans Membership

Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies

Special Recreation of Central Lake County’s (SRACLC) Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies (HMHB) program promotes positive living for veterans, active military, and their families through fitness and community-based therapeutic recreation. The program offers six different HMHB memberships. Veterans and active military who reside within the legal boundaries of SRACLC Member Agencies may choose one annual membership at no cost to them. In addition to the memberships, weekly and monthly recreational events are offered such as pickleball, golf, art, picnics, museum tours, and more. View the brochure.

The Vernon Hills Park District offers the following membership. Please visit SRACLC for the full list of opportunities.

  • One-year Fitness Center Membership
  • One-year Fitness Center Membership for one Battle Buddy

If you or someone you know is a veteran or currently active in the military and are interested in SRACLC’s Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies program, please contact the SRACLC office at 847-816-4866 to schedule an intake meeting with the HMHB Coordinator. This meeting is approximately 30-60 minutes and the Coordinator will review the paperwork, program, and opportunities offered. Post intake, the Coordinator will assist with enrollment into desired membership and programs.
